Key Details:

"Supporting Children with Autism through Physical Education" (EmpowerAble), is an Erasmus+ project (KA220-SCH) aiming to enhance educational practices and inclusion for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in physical education (PE).

Objectives:

  1. Address Gaps in PE for ASD:

    • Map existing practices and identify areas needing improvement.

  2. Develop Training and Resources:

    • Create a curriculum and training programs for PE teachers to enhance their ability to support and include students with autism.

  3. Promote Inclusion:

    • Equip educators with strategies to manage behaviour and foster engagement.

  4. Innovate with Technology:

    • Design a 3D Virtual Reality (VR) mobile app tailored for PE activities to engage ASD students.

Implementation:

  • Work Packages:

1. Comprehensive Curriculum for PE Teachers:

2. Creation of a 3D Virtual Reality (VR) Mobile App for PE Activities:

    • A 3D VR mobile app designed to facilitate PE activities for ASD students.

    • Interactive and user-friendly features to engage students in physical activities while accommodating their sensory needs.

  • Impact:

    • Provides ASD students with innovative ways to participate in PE.

    • Promotes physical activity and enhances their motor skills and confidence.
